Week 6 Posting - Users and Groups, Maintaining Windows, and the Command-Line Interface
During this week's reading, using the command line stood out to me the most. I already have some experience with it from previous classes. In the past, I learned how to navigate through directories and create or delete files and folders using basic commands. Since I had already worked with these commands, this section served as a good refresher on what I had learned in my previous class. It also reinforced that these are skills I will continue to use as I learn more about system administration.
I also gained a better understanding of authentication, authorization, and operating system maintenance. Reading about user accounts, groups, NTFS permissions, and the Encrypting File System helped me better understand how Windows controls access to files and protects sensitive data. The section on different backup methods also reminded me how important it is to have a recovery plan in case files are lost or the system fails.
